Bill Jolly is a three time Emmy Award winning composer/ arranger/ musical director and keyboardist. Bill’s had two feature articles written on him in Keyboard Magazine and has composed music for HBO, MTV, BET, Columbia Tri-Star Pictures, Coca-Cola and McDonalds to name a few.
He has appeared in radio commercials, billboards ads and TV endorsements for the Bose Corporation, Korg Keyboards and Verizon DSL.
Bill has directed The Rhythm and Blues Foundation Awards, The Emmy Awards, Dionne Warwick and Friends and Radio One's 25th Anniversary all-star gala to name a few. Bill has performed before 3 US Presidents as well as both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. Onstage, he’s accompanied Chaka Kahn, Shania Twain, Anthony Hamilton, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Brian McKnight, Michael Buble’, Michael Jackson, Usher, Michael Bolton, Musiq Soulchild, Quincy Jones, Jill Scott, Paul Schafer, Teddy Pendergrass, Dwele’, Wayne Brady, Bonnie Rait, Chuck D and the late Grover Washington Jr. to name a few.
Currently, he’s the musical director, arranger and orchestra conductor for the Sony/PBS/Live Nation television special “Love Train: The Sound of Phila.” which is now airing on PBS stations throughout the country through 2010.
2009 will mark the start of Bill’s new gig as the Musical Director for Aretha Franklin, who was recently voted the greatest singer in the history of music by Rolling Stone Magazine. Bill will also direct his 1st Broadway play in 2009 entitled “Lady Day” (The Billie Holiday Story), which he also directed in London and Paris to rave reviews.
Bill was inducted into the Overbrook High School Hall of Fame in 2004, received West Chester University's Distinguished Alumni Award in 1998 and received the University’s Drum Major for Justice Award in 2009. Bill is a single father with a beautiful young daughter named Bianca Jolly.
